Explosives and military equipment found near Teesta river in Jalpaiguri

Reports have emerged of the discovery of army ammunition and explosives scattered in various areas surrounding the Teesta River in proximity to Jalpaiguri. Following the dissemination of this news, a significant deployment of police forces and army personnel, led by IC Arghya Sarkar from the Jalpaiguri Kotwali police station, swiftly responded by converging on the Baro Patiya Nathuarcher Bodaganj area within the Sadar Block on Monday.

It is essential to note that during a related incident in Jalpaiguri district, a tragic explosion occurred, resulting in the loss of life for an individual who had been collecting fuel from the Teesta River and transporting various materials home.

Furthermore, several members of the same family sustained injuries in this unfortunate accident. Subsequently, law enforcement agencies extended their operations to different parts of the district, focusing on the retrieval and safe handling of various materials that belonged to army personnel who had arrived from Sikkim. Presently, both police and army personnel continue their diligent efforts in carrying out rescue operations in the vicinity of the Teesta River within the district.
