In the aftermath of the explosion at the Zamra International Convention & Exhibition Centre in Kerala's Kalamassery, which claimed one life and left over 36 people injured, Union Home Minister Amit Shah engaged in a conversation with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to assess the situation.
Teams from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the National Security Guard (NSG) have been dispatched to the blast site to probe the incident, marking the first such explosion in the region in several years. Shah has reportedly offered full support from the Central government to investigate the perpetrators, and there are indications that the NIA may formally take over the investigation.
Kerala Police confirmed that the attack involved the use of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and revealed their intention to establish a dedicated special investigation team to thoroughly examine the case. Sources disclosed that the explosives had been concealed within a lunchbox
The explosion occurred during a prayer meeting of Jehovah’s Witnesses, attended by more than 1,000 individuals at the convention center.
