"Why no FIR against Amit Shah?" asks Abhishek as CID serves him fresh summon for June 16
Facebook experienced a widespread global outage on Thursday, with users across multiple countries reporting login failures, unexpected logouts, and query error messages on both mobile and web platforms. Many users said they were automatically signed out of their accounts and were unable to log back in, while error messages such as "something went wrong" and "an unexpected error occurred" appeared during login attempts.
The disruption also affected Facebook Messenger, and some users reported related technical issues on other Meta-owned platforms, including Instagram and WhatsApp desktop services. While Facebook appeared to be the most severely affected service, Instagram and WhatsApp remained partially functional for many users despite intermittent disruptions.
Reports of the outage began emerging at around 6:45 a.m. Pacific Time. Users from India, the United States, Canada, Australia, the Philippines, and several other countries reported difficulties accessing Meta services. Outage-tracking platforms recorded a sharp increase in complaints as the disruption spread across multiple regions.
As the outage continued, users turned to alternative social media platforms to discuss the issue, causing related search terms to trend in several countries. At the time the reports emerged, Meta had not issued a detailed explanation regarding the disruption. The company's business tools status page also did not immediately reflect the widespread issues reported by users.
