Faissal Khan, brother of Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, has announced that he is severing all ties with his family and will file a legal petition for formal separation in a month. Speaking at a press conference, he stated that his decision comes after years of alleged harassment and confinement by his family. “After that, they issued a circular in the media saying I am misleading people and lying. They never trusted me, so I don’t trust them,” he said.
Faissal detailed that the conflict began in 2002 after his marriage and divorce. He said, “I got married in 2002. But I got divorced the same year. There was pressure on me from the family to get married again. I was feeling very harassed by this. Therefore, I wrote a letter to all the family members explaining my situation and giving examples of bad marriages in the family. They misunderstood me and said that I am mentally unstable.” He was admitted to JJ Hospital for 20 days for psychiatric evaluation, during which he received medication.
He alleged that Aamir Khan blocked his professional opportunities, including a 2008 offer to participate in Bigg Boss for ₹4 lakh. He also spoke about financial support he previously received from Aamir, including a script doctor job and monthly maintenance. Faissal stated, “Now I don’t want any help, because he feels if he is paying me then I should not say anything.” He confirmed he has waived all rights to inheritance, property, or family benefits.
Faissal described personal difficulties within the family, alleging that his brother-in-law was abusive and prevented him from meeting his mother. “Santosh, my brother-in-law would not let me meet my mother. He was very abusive to me. He gets very obnoxious after drinking,” he said. He emphasized that he has gained peace and self-respect since deciding to separate legally from his family.
Faissal Khan began his acting career with Madhosh (1996) and appeared in Aamir Khan’s Mela (2000). He reaffirmed that his legal petition for separation will be filed in a month and clarified, “I won’t file a defamation case as I don’t want anything from him.” He has also confirmed that no member of his family has reached out to him since he publicly declared his decision to cut ties.
