Park Street police arrested a man impersonating an army officer from the third floor of 11 Elliot Lane. The accused, identified as SK Nazir Hussain, claimed to be a senior military official and allegedly ran a training center targeting young army aspirants and NCC cadets. His father has been named as Lieutenant SK Abdul Hakim.
During a search of Hussain’s residence, police recovered khaki uniforms with three-star insignia, red and blue ribbon bars, an ID card, two green caps, and a cap and badge resembling those of the Gorkha Rifles. A brown leather belt with a crown badge, black ammunition boots, a nameplate, and a membership card were also found. Additionally, police seized several photocopies of Aadhaar cards, higher secondary examination certificates, passport-sized photographs, cash memos, and another pair of black leather ammunition boots.
A case has been filed against Hussain under BNS sections 61(2)/204/205/319(2)/318(4)/338/336(3)/340(2). He was presented before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court in Kolkata. Authorities are investigating his activities and possible connections. Further interrogation is underway to determine the extent of his impersonation and whether others were involved.
