The Farmers' Rail Roko movement, a part of the ongoing farmers' protests, continues as farmers stand firm at the Shambhu border of Punjab, adjacent to the Haryana border. Demanding various issues, including the formulation of laws on Minimum Support Price (MSP), the farmers have set up a front and have pledged not to move forward until meaningful discussions with the central government take place. Today marks the third round of talks scheduled between farmer leaders and Union Ministers, set to commence at 5 pm in Chandigarh.
In this crucial meeting, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda, and Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai are expected to participate on the government's behalf. Meanwhile, farmer representatives such as Jagjit Singh Dallewal, Sarwan Singh Pandher, and Ramandeep Mann will represent the farmers' union. The talks are anticipated to address multiple concerns raised by the farmers, including their demand for MSP.
