A tragic incident occurred in Rangpuri, southwest Delhi, where a father named Heeralal Sharma took the lives of his four daughters—Neetu (26), Nikki (24), Neeru (23), and Nidhi (20)—before ending his own life. On Friday, the landlord, Nitin Chauhan, received a call from his caretaker about a bad smell coming from flat C-4. When no one answered, Chauhan called the police for help.
When the police and fire brigade entered the apartment, they found Heeralal dead in one room and his four daughters in another. Neighbors shared that the family had kept to themselves, especially after Heeralal’s wife passed away from cancer about a year ago. Heeralal worked as a carpenter at the Indian Spinal Injury Centre for 28 years but had stopped going to work since January 2024.
Investigators found no visible injuries on the bodies but discovered three packets of Celphos poison and glasses with suspicious liquids inside the home. The police are conducting a postmortem and investigating the case further.
Relatives mentioned that Heeralal had become very focused on caring for his daughters, both of whom had disabilities, after his wife's death. The family was last seen by neighbors on September 24. Authorities are looking into all aspects of this heartbreaking case.
