Bidhannagar Mayor Krishna Chakraborty resigns, another massive blow to TMC
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has withdrawn its non-cooperation directive against actor Ranveer Singh, a day after he issued a legal notice challenging the action taken against him over his exit from the film Don 3. The decision was announced on Wednesday by FWICE President BN Tiwari, who said the directive had been withdrawn following requests from the Cine & TV Artistes' Association and the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association.
The development comes amid an ongoing dispute surrounding Ranveer Singh’s departure from Don 3, which is being directed by Farhan Akhtar. During a press conference in Mumbai, FWICE Chief Advisor Ashoke Pandit confirmed that the organisation had received a legal notice from the actor seeking removal of the non-cooperation directive. He stated that FWICE's legal team would formally respond to the notice while also expressing hope for a constructive resolution through dialogue.
FWICE officials said the organisation does not possess the authority to impose a formal ban on any artist and reiterated their willingness to engage with Ranveer Singh to resolve the matter. The body indicated that it remains open to discussions and is seeking a positive outcome through mutual engagement. The non-cooperation directive had originally been announced on May 25 following concerns related to the actor’s withdrawal from Don 3 after the release of Dhurandhar in December.
