An FIR has been lodged against BJP leader Amit Malviya at Gariahat police station following accusations of making objectionable remarks against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya filed the complaint on April 19, citing media reports and a tweet by Malviya criticizing Banerjee. Bhattacharya, known for her close association with Banerjee, expressed concern over the derogatory comments and accused Malviya of attempting to tarnish the image of the country's only woman Chief Minister.
In her complaint, Bhattacharya condemned the alleged remarks against Banerjee, stating, "she felt bad for the comments made against a personality like Mamata Banerjee, in such a situation it can be understood how much Mamata Banerjee's heart must have been hurt." The FIR highlights the growing tension between political factions in West Bengal, with allegations of verbal attacks and attempts to discredit leaders from opposing parties.
