A major fire broke out at a coaching center near Batra Cinema in Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar on Thursday. The incident took place in a building near the Delhi University campus around 12:00 noon.
The incident has also gone viral on social media where students can be seen escaping from windows using wires. 11 fire tenders were rushed to the spot and rescue operations are ongoing at the time.
According to the Delhi Police, the incident occurred due to a fire in an electricity meter on the third floor.
Police said after smoke engulfed the building, the children panicked and began climbing down the back of the building. Students got out of the building using a rope. According to fire director Atul Garg, four students were also injured due to this.
