Fire breaks out in Bhubaneswar-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express at Cuttack

A fire incident occurred on Thursday morning aboard the Bhubaneswar-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express at Cuttack station in Odisha. The fire was detected when smoke emanated from the brake shoe of one of the train coaches. Railway officials swiftly responded to the situation, reaching the spot to bring the blaze under control.

While the fire's cause remains undetermined, prompt action from officials ensured the safety of passengers, and the train was able to resume its journey after the situation was contained. This incident follows a similar occurrence last month when a fire broke out on the New Delhi-Darbhanga Superfast Express, affecting three coaches near UP's Etawah.

A preliminary investigation indicated a short circuit as the likely cause of the fire. In the recent Bhubaneswar-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express incident, the station master at Cuttack station noticed smoke in a sleeper coach and promptly halted the train, allowing passengers to evacuate safely. The prompt response reflects the importance of quick action in mitigating potential risks during train emergencies.
