A fire broke out at the Dasnagar post office in Howrah early Thursday morning, causing panic in the surrounding area. The incident occurred around 7:00 AM when locals noticed smoke billowing out of the post office windows.
The sight quickly created a sensation in the neighborhood, leading concerned residents to alert the Dasnagar police station and the fire department. Upon receiving the information, police officers and firefighters rushed to the scene.
With the assistance of locals, the firefighters managed to bring the fire under control within forty minutes. Preliminary investigations suggest that an electrical short circuit may have caused the fire in one of the post office's computers.
