A fire broke out on the sixth floor of Nizam Palace, one of the offices of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), located near Camac Street in Kolkata. The fire originated in the quarters of central government officials, causing immediate panic in the area.
Three fire engines were dispatched to the scene, and the blaze was brought under control. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
However, authorities are looking into the possibility that it may have been caused by cooking, as two cylinders were found on the premises.
