Fire breaks out in two trains in Tirupati, services disrupted

A fire broke out in the coaches of two stationary trains—the Hisar Express and the Rayalseema Express—at the Tirupati Railway Station yard in Andhra Pradesh on Monday. The blaze quickly spread to two coaches, one on each train, prompting an immediate response from railway officials and multiple teams of firefighters. Authorities have confirmed that no casualties were reported in the incident.

The fire posed a significant threat to the other coaches and trains stationed nearby. However, railway staff acted swiftly, successfully detaching the affected coaches from the rest of the trains. Firefighters are continuing to work at the scene to completely douse the blaze.

This incident follows closely on the heels of a separate fire involving a goods train carrying diesel in Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu, which occurred just a day earlier and caused significant disruptions to railway operations in that region. The timely intervention and safety measures implemented by staff at the Tirupati yard were instrumental in containing the latest fire and minimizing damage.
