A sudden fire broke out in a house at Kolkata's 7/1 Paddapukur Lane late last night, causing widespread panic in the area. The residents claim that a promoter had repeatedly asked them to vacate the house for development purposes.
However, the residents refused to leave and the fire incident now raises suspicion of foul play. Meanwhile, the fire department was informed about the blaze, and after a brief amount of time, the fire was brought under control.
On receiving the news, Mayor Firhad Hakim also arrived at the spot and talked to the residents of the ill-fated house. He asked them to file an FIR at the local police station. He also informed that the forensic team will investigate the cause of the fire.
