A fire broke out in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday night, resulting in the gutting of 12 shops in the market area. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident. Fire tenders were swiftly dispatched to the site after receiving reports of the blaze. Firefighters worked for two hours to bring the flames under control, preventing further damage to the market area.
According to SDM (Sadar) Vikram Raghav, the preliminary investigation suggests that a short circuit may have triggered the fire. The affected shops, primarily storing rice, fruits, and vegetables worth lakhs of rupees in boxes and sacks, suffered substantial losses. The exact extent of the damage will be determined after obtaining information from the traders. Authorities are conducting a detailed assessment to ascertain the financial impact of the fire on the businesses in the market area.
