A fire broke out at a jute factory in the Bankra area of Domjur, Howrah, at around 8:15 AM. Large quantities of jute stored inside caused the flames to spread rapidly. Thick black smoke covered the area, and locals reported seeing stacks of jute burning inside the warehouse. Three fire engines reached the location, and firefighting operations are ongoing.
No casualties or injuries have been reported so far, according to administrative sources. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Authorities have asked residents to stay away from the area. Officials are assessing the damage, and further resources may be deployed if required.
