Jr Doctors announce 'hunger strike' from today, says demands not met
A fire broke out in the generator coach and an adjoining passenger car of the Shri Ganganagar Humsafar Express train shortly after it had departed from Valsad railway station in Gujarat on Saturday afternoon. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the train was promptly brought to a halt, and all passengers safely deboarded.
The fire ignited in the Tiruchchirappalli-Sri Ganganagar Humsafar Express around 2 pm, soon after it had departed from Valsad station en route to Surat. Railway officials suspect that the flames were triggered by a short circuit in the power coach, which subsequently spread to the adjacent B1 coach. Superintendent of Police Karanraj Vaghela confirmed that the situation was now under control.
Despite the fire being contained, the incident understandably caused panic among the passengers, prompting the authorities to halt the train and facilitate the safe deboarding of all travelers.
