A fire broke out on Thursday afternoon in the vicinity of Noapada Metro located in Ward No. 18 of Baranagar Municipality, causing chaos and panic in the surrounding area. The incident occurred at around 2:30 pm, and the cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit.
Upon receiving the distress call, the fire department promptly dispatched two fire engines to the spot. The firefighters arrived at the scene within a few minutes and immediately started dousing the flames. The fire was brought under control after an hour of relentless efforts by the fire brigade.
The fire caused extensive damage to the surrounding area, and the nearby shops and houses were also affected. However, due to the timely response by the fire department, there were no casualties reported. The area was cordoned off to ensure the safety of the people and to prevent any untoward incidents.
According to the initial assessments made by the fire brigade, the fire appears to have been caused by a short circuit. However, the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and an investigation has been launched to ascertain the same.
