Firhad Hakim, the minister of Municipal Affairs and Urban Development in WB, warned that those who do not follow the waste segregation rules of the Rasbhar law will face hefty fines
Hakim visited the 121 Ward Behala area to check if residents are separating their waste correctly in green and blue buckets
He emphasized the need for people to be aware of proper waste disposal methods
Firhad Hakim, the Chairman of Kolkata Municipal Corporation, has warned citizens of a heavy fine if they do not follow the Rasbhar law for garbage disposal.
During his visit to the 121 Ward Behala, he inspected whether people were using the green and blue buckets provided by the municipality for separating dry and wet waste properly. He also observed how the municipal compressor machine separates dry and wet waste.
Hakim emphasized the importance of following the rules of the municipality for garbage disposal and said that those who do not comply will not have their garbage collected and will face a significant penalty for throwing garbage on the road. He stated that if citizens do not follow the Rasbhar law, the ground will be filled with garbage, and it will not be a suitable environment for living.
He also mentioned that awareness campaigns will be conducted after higher secondary education to educate people about proper garbage disposal.
