A firing incident occurred in the Naoda area of Murshidabad district on Sunday morning, reportedly stemming from a land dispute. The victim, identified as Jailer Rehman, was en route to sell vegetables when four gunshots were fired, with one bullet striking him. Rehman has been hospitalized at Murshidabad Medical College Hospital for treatment.
Sources suggest that the dispute leading to this incident had been ongoing between Jailer Rehman and his neighbor, primarily revolving around a contested piece of land. Allegations have emerged that there were attempts to forcibly acquire Rehman's land, which ultimately escalated into the firing episode. As of the current reporting, no arrests have been made by the police in connection with this case.
