Former education minister Partha Chatterjee to appear in court for corruption case

Former Education Minister Partha Chatterjee and other accused, arrested in the state's famous teacher appointment corruption case, will be produced in the court once again today (Monday). The trial of the case is going on in the Special CBI Court of Alipore.

Central agency sources have told that today Partha Chatterjee, his female friend Arpita Mukherjee will be produced in the court. Both are lodged in the Presidency Central Jail. Apart from this, sources have also told that Partha Chatterjee's advocate has once again applied for his bail.

A bail application has been made for him on the background of ill health. Here, the central agency has made up its mind to apply for not giving him bail, calling him influential. Apart from Parth, middlemen Shantanu Banerjee and Ayan Sheel, arrested in the appointment corruption case, will also be produced in the court. Apart from this, Manik Bhattacharya, former chairman of the Primary Education Council arrested in the same case, his wife and son will also be produced in the court.

CBI sources have said that an application will be made to take all of them into custody once again. All these people have not cooperated much in the investigation and are trying to mislead the investigating officers in spite of having a lot of evidence. That is why an application will be made to extend his custody.
