Four children's deaths in BSF area ignite political turmoil in West Bengal

The death of four children in a BSF-controlled area in Chetnagachh of Chopra has sparked heightened political tensions in the state of West Bengal. The ruling party, Trinamool, has initiated a movement in response to the tragic incident and has sought time to meet the Governor regarding the matter. While the Governor is currently unavailable in Kolkata, sources from Raj Bhavan have confirmed that a meeting with the Trinamool delegation has been scheduled for Thursday.

Trinamool representatives, including Chandrima Bhattacharya, Firhad Hakim, Bratya Basu, along with other prominent leaders, plan to request the Governor's intervention in visiting Chopra to address concerns over the deaths allegedly due to BSF negligence. Trinamool has announced protests across the state on Tuesday, condemning the incident and demanding accountability from the central forces. However, BSF has denied allegations of negligence, stating that their personnel promptly responded to the situation, rescuing the children and initiating medical aid.
