Fourth summons issued to Arvind Kejriwal by ED in Delhi liquor scam case

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is set to face the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for the fourth time as he receives a summons in connection with the Delhi Liquor Scam case. The ED had previously summoned Kejriwal on November 2, December 21, and January 3, 2024, regarding the Delhi Excise Policy case, but the CM did not appear for questioning on any of these occasions. The fourth summons requires Kejriwal to present himself at the ED office on January 18. The repeated non-compliance by the Chief Minister raises questions about whether he will participate in the interrogation this time.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders have consistently labeled the ED's summonses as politically motivated and unnecessary. Allegations have been made that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is conspiring to arrest Kejriwal, while the AAP contends that he has nothing to hide and is not involved in any corruption. Kejriwal has expressed his willingness to cooperate with the investigation, provided the ED clarifies the basis for summoning him. AAP leaders assert that the ED's actions are illegal and politically motivated, demanding the withdrawal of the summons.
