The Advanced Society for Headmasters and Headmistresses (ASFHM) in West Bengal has called for an inquiry into the alleged misuse of funds allocated for purchasing tablets for higher secondary students, particularly in East Medinipur. Concerned over missing funds, ASFHM has asked the state education department to investigate the security of the ‘Banglar Shiksha Portal’ used to distribute these funds under the "Taruner Swapna" scheme.

Allegations have surfaced against headmasters in East Medinipur and other districts like Malda and East Burdwan, claiming they misdirected funds meant for real students.
ASFHM says the principals face undue stress from accusations and demands they be excluded from non-academic duties to avoid future issues.
