Bidhannagar Cyber Crime Police have arrested Deep Barui in connection with a fraudulent investment scheme that resulted in a loss of lakhs of rupees for a local resident. The victim, Sahel Agarwal, a resident of EC Block in Salt Lake, reported the incident to the police after falling for an investment scam promoted via a Facebook advertisement. Agarwal claimed he saw an ad offering significant returns on stock market investments, which prompted him to join a WhatsApp group linked to the scheme.
