Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is set to embark on a tour of Spain on Tuesday, accompanied by Chief Secretary Harikrishna Dwivedi. Prior to her departure, she held a press conference at Nabanna, addressing various topics including her response to the Governor's recent letter, the Enforcement Directorate's notice to Abhishek Banerjee, and the distinction between "Bharat" and "India."
During the press conference, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee shared significant updates, including the initiation of a new sub-division in Dhupguri. She confirmed that Abhishek Banerjee had previously mentioned the creation of the Dhupguri sub-division before the by-election, and the process for its establishment has commenced.
Banerjee highlighted that her upcoming foreign tour marks her first international visit in five years. She explained that she had refrained from traveling abroad due to lack of permission, expressing her intention to stay within proximity in case of any emergency.
Addressing the Enforcement Directorate's notice to Abhishek Banerjee, the Chief Minister labeled it a "political conspiracy." She emphasized the importance of acknowledging political differences within a democracy and cited the recent arrest of Chandrababu Naidu, which she disapproved of.
Banerjee noted that Trinamool Congress had been denied permission for a protest on October 2 but confirmed her plans to visit Rajghat on that day to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
Regarding the Governor's recent letter, Banerjee clarified that it was of a personal nature and solely conveyed good wishes for her trip. She emphasized that it had no government-related implications and reiterated her stance on not disclosing private correspondence to the public.
The Chief Minister's statements during the press conference provide insight into key matters as she prepares for her visit to Spain.
