From Dhoom to Dubai deals: Rimi Sen builds new career in real estate

Former Bollywood actor Rimi Sen, once a familiar face in early 2000s hit films, has completely stepped away from acting and is now actively working in Dubai’s real estate sector. After gradually disappearing from the big screen over a decade ago, she has taken a decisive turn in her professional life, focusing entirely on property business in the UAE.

Rimi, known for popular films such as Hungama, Dhoom, Golmaal, Phir Hera Pheri and Johnny Gaddar, spoke about her transition and described Dubai as a welcoming and inclusive city. She highlighted how the city accommodates people from across the world and prioritises ease of living and business-friendly systems.

Explaining the difference between business environments, Rimi said Dubai’s real estate market functions smoothly due to discipline and clear roles between developers and agencies. She noted that agents operate within a structured system, which brings transparency and efficiency to the sector.

She also pointed out the contrast in how real estate agents are perceived, saying professionals in Dubai are treated on par with financial consultants, unlike in India where brokerage demands are often viewed negatively.

Rimi last appeared on screen in 2011 and has since stayed away from films. In recent years, she has occasionally made headlines for addressing speculation around cosmetic treatments, clarifying that she has only undergone non-surgical procedures and remains comfortable with her choices.
