The Gangasagar Fair, held annually in West Bengal, concluded smoothly this year, attracting a record-breaking crowd of approximately 1.1 crore people. The fair, which commenced on January 8, officially concluded on January 17, and the process of dismantling temporary administrative offices, police camps, and temporary cantonments initiated promptly after its conclusion.
Interestingly, even before the conclusion of the Gangasagar Fair, another fair named the "Bhanga Fair" began in Gangasagar and will span the next 15-16 days. This subsequent fair primarily draws locals from Sagar Island and serves as a significant marketplace for their daily needs, especially after the massive influx of visitors during the Gangasagar Fair.
