Starting September 1, 2024, several significant changes have taken effect across India that will impact everyday expenses and banking services. The first major change is the increase in the price of LPG cylinders. The price for a 19 kg commercial gas cylinder has risen across major cities:

• Delhi from ₹1,652.50 to ₹1,691.50
• Kolkata from ₹1,764.50 to ₹1,802.50
• Mumbai from ₹1,605 to ₹1,644
• Chennai from ₹1,817 to ₹1,855

In contrast, air travelers will benefit from a reduction in aviation fuel prices. The price of air turbine fuel (ATF) has decreased:

• Delhi from ₹97,975.72 to ₹93,480.22 per kiloliter
• Kolkata from ₹1,00,520.88 to ₹96,298.44
• Mumbai from ₹91,650.34 to ₹87,432.78
• Chennai from ₹1,01,632.08 to ₹97,064.32 per kiloliter

For HDFC Bank credit card users, there are new limitations effective from September 1. The bank has capped reward points on utility transactions to 2,000 points per month. Additionally, no rewards will be given for educational payments made through third-party apps.

In September, banking services will be limited due to holidays. Banks will be closed for 15 days throughout the month due to festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, First Onam, and Barawafat. It is advisable to check the RBI Bank Holiday List for accurate dates.

Lastly, the deadline for updating Aadhaar cards for free has been extended to September 14. After this date, a fee will be required for updates, making it important for individuals to complete any necessary updates by then.
