An Enforcement Directorate (ED) team faced an attack in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district while attempting to conduct a raid at the residences of Trinamool Congress (TMC) block-level leaders in connection with an alleged ration scam.Minister Giriraj Singh on Friday (January 5) likened the regime of the Trinamool Congress government in the state to that of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un under whom democracy is noticeably absent in the country.
The Minister said that democracy does not seem to be hailing in Mamata Banerjee-ruled state and that it appears that there is a “Kim Jong-Un government”."There is nothing like democracy in West Bengal. There seems to be a Kim Jong-Un government there. Adhir Ranjan has said that it would not be new even if there was a murder. This is Mamata Banerjee's democracy," Giriraj Singh alleged.
On Thursday night, an Enforcement Directorate (ED) team faced an attack in Sandeshkhali village of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, as it attempted to execute a raid on residences linked to Trinamool Congress (TMC) block-level leaders involved in an alleged ration scam. The team's vehicle was vandalized during the incident, resulting in injuries to two officials. The BJP strongly criticized the TMC, accusing party "goons" and alleged illegal infiltrators, including Rohingya Muslims, for the attack.
Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury expressed concerns over the state's law and order, foreseeing potential escalation from attacks on ED officials. In response, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh labeled Chowdhury as an "agent of the BJP."
