A 17-year-old girl student named Ranija Parveen was found dead in a school in the Birbhum district of West Bengal. Her family reported receiving a call from the school on Wednesday morning informing them that Ranija was unwell and had been taken to Labhpur Primary Hospital.
When her family members arrived at the hospital, they discovered that she had already passed away with a mark on her neck. The family has accused the school of beating her to death and then hanging her body to make it appear as a suicide.
After the incident was reported, people from the village along with their relatives gathered at the school to protest. Some individuals even attempted to break the school gate. The police from Labhpur police station arrived on the scene and attempted to calm the crowd, leading to a heated argument and scuffle.
However, they were eventually able to bring the situation under control. The student's body has been sent for a postmortem examination, and the school administrators are currently being questioned. An investigation into the unnatural death has been launched.
