Got to know Karnataka's culture after watching Kantara: Amit Shah

Kantara emerged as a massive commercial success in 2022 and established Rishab Shetty as an all-India star. The film received rave reviews, with critics praising the chilling climax and great performances. Kantara is now back in the limelight, but for a different reason. Addressing a rally in Karnataka, Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the film for highlighting the state's culture and traditions.

Kantara is an action thriller film directed by and starring Rishabh Shetty. It was produced by Vijay Kirgandur under the banner of Hombale Films. One of the biggest hits of 2022, Kantara continues to win hearts and make headlines, even months after it was first released in theaters on September 30. Addressing a BJP rally in Karnataka, Amit Shah said he learned about the state's rich traditions and culture after watching the film.

“I have just seen Kantara. After seeing Kantara, I came to know that this state is of such rich traditions. There are very few areas in the country where people make the country prosperous by farming despite the adverse situation,” he said.

Kantara is an action thriller that revolves around the Bhootha Kola, a traditional dance for the deity. The film stars Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Sapthami Gowda and Pramod Shetty in lead roles. It is produced by Vijay Kirgandur under Hombale Films, the banner behind the KGF franchise. Kantara 2 has already been announced. It is a prequel to the original film and is expected to be bigger and better than the first installment. Kantara 2 is slated to open in theaters in 2024.
