NIA searches Saokat Molla’s home and party office, son questioned in Bhangar blast case
A political dispute in the Santoshpur area under the jurisdiction of the Survey Park Police Station has intensified after a large quantity of government relief materials was recovered from a party office. According to the CPI(M), the office had been forcibly occupied by the Trinamool Congress in 2020. The party claimed that after regaining control of the premises in 2026 and reopening the office, workers discovered several items stored inside, including buckets bearing government logos, utensils, oxygen cylinders, and important government documents. The discovery triggered fresh political controversy in the locality.
According to CPI(M) workers, the recovery was made immediately after the office was reopened following the alleged restoration of possession. The materials found inside were reportedly associated with government relief and welfare activities. The incident quickly drew attention from local residents and political workers, leading to heightened activity in the area. The recovery of official materials from within a political party office has raised questions regarding how and why such items were being stored at the premises.
Following the incident, police initiated an inquiry into the matter. Investigators are examining the circumstances under which the government relief materials and documents were kept inside the office and are gathering information related to the ownership and occupation of the premises. The investigation is also focused on establishing the origin of the recovered items and determining the reasons for their presence inside the disputed political office.
