Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was hospitalised in Mumbai on Tuesday after he accidentally shot himself in his leg with his licenced revolver. The bullet has been removed and Govinda's condition is stable, the actor's manager told India Today.
The incident happened at 4.45 am when Govinda was preparing to go out, and he was cleaning his licenced revolver. However, the revolver went off after it slipped from his hand and fell. Sources said Govinda was about to leave for Kolkata for an event.
The actor was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Mumbai's CritiCare Hospital. Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja was not in Mumbai when the incident happened. Ahuja said she had been told that Govinda was fine and out of danger now. Govinda's daughter is currently in the hospital.
