Oil marketing companies have raised the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 25.50, effective March 1, ahead of the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates. However, there has been no adjustment in the prices of domestic cylinders. This hike marks a significant increase in commercial LPG cylinder rates across various cities in India, prompting concerns among consumers.
The latest surge in LPG prices comes as oil companies typically announce new rates at the beginning of each month. The escalation in commercial cylinder prices reflects a nationwide trend, with consumers in major cities witnessing varying price increments.
In Delhi, the cost of a commercial cylinder surged from Rs 1769.50 to Rs 1795, while Price of commercial cylinder in Kolkata increased to Rs 1911, Mumbai, and Chennai experienced similar hikes. Despite the consistent pricing for domestic cylinders in recent months, the upward trajectory in commercial rates signifies potential financial strain for businesses and industries reliant on LPG for operations.
