'Grow Up': Bengal BJP chief hits back at Moitra's video over Mamata remark

A heated exchange unfolded between West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Sukanta Majumdar and Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra, stemming from an alleged comment made by Majumdar regarding Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

On Tuesday, Mahua Moitra demanded an apology from the BJP, denouncing the comment as misogynistic. She criticized the party, labeling it as "anti-women" and highlighting the contradiction between their emphasis on 'Nari Shakti' (women empowerment) and the alleged remarks made by the BJP state president.

In a video statement, Moitra expressed her dismay, stating, "While PM @narendramodi keeps talking about Nari Shakti, his Bengal State President has called for the public to slap our Hon'ble Chief Minister." She urged the BJP to issue a public apology for what she characterized as a "chauvinistic and patriarchal attitude towards women."

Responding to Moitra's criticism, Sukanta Majumdar, in a late-night post, retorted, "A lady who shows a 'Particular' finger now and then in public, was found insulting journalists, using derogatory abuses, etc., will now teach lessons of respect using a cropped portion of my speech... Grow Up."
