A first-grade female student was subjected to horrific sexual harassment inside the premises of a private school in the Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal. The accused security guard involved in the incident was promptly arrested by the police following a formal criminal complaint lodged by the victim's family members. Alongside the primary accusation, serious allegations have surfaced against the private school authorities, with the victim's parents accusing the institution's principal of actively attempting to suppress the incident to avoid controversy.
According to the victim's mother, the assault took place last Friday inside the school compound. The incident came to light when the young child narrated the distressing experience to her mother on their way back home, explaining how the security guard had forcibly locked her inside a school toilet and abused her. The child was reportedly saved when one of her classmates arrived and knocked on the toilet door, causing an interruption. When the parents immediately rushed to the school to confront the administration, the principal allegedly hid the accused, refused to contact law enforcement, and discouraged others from doing so, claiming it would disrupt the school's educational environment.
Backed by the support of other concerned parents, the victim’s family successfully bypassed the school administration's resistance to file an official First Information Report (FIR) with the local police station. Law enforcement officials acted swiftly upon receiving the report, arriving at the campus to take the accused security guard into custody, while the victim's family demanded the immediate dismissal of the principal. Police investigators confirmed they have seized the school's CCTV footage for forensic examination and have instructed the school management to ensure full surveillance coverage and enhanced safety protocols across the entire campus.
