Hardik Pandya is the new No. 1 All-rounder in ICC rankings

Hardik Pandya ascended to the No. 1 position in the ICC Men's T20I all-rounder ranking following his stellar performance in the T20 World Cup 2024. The star player moved up two places to tie with Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga as the top-ranked men's T20I all-rounder. India's vice-captain made significant contributions with both bat and ball in their T20 World Cup-winning campaign. He became India's standout player in the final against South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday, June 29.

Throughout the tournament, Hardik contributed valuable cameos lower the order and delivered crucial breakthroughs for the team. The pinnacle of his performance came during the final when he took Heinrich Klaasen's and David Miller's key wickets, shifting the momentum in India's favor after South Africa appeared to be coasting in their chase of 177 runs. The star all-rounder concluded the campaign on a high note, amassing 144 runs with a strike rate of 151.57 in six innings across eight matches, including a half-century. He also claimed 11 wickets in eight matches, with his best figures being 3/20 in the final, maintaining an economy rate of 7.64.
