"Have Sex, Or Lose Work": Mumbai DJ allegedly subjected to years of rape and blackmail by manager

A 35-year-old man, also employed as a DJ, was arrested in Mumbai on charges of repeatedly raping a 31-year-old Mexican woman DJ, as revealed by the Bandra police. The arrest follows a complaint lodged by the victim last week, stating that the accused, who also served as her manager, sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions since 2019.

The woman, currently residing in Mumbai, narrated in her complaint that the accused coerced her into non-consensual acts, threatening to jeopardize her professional assignments if she refused. Additionally, he allegedly used intimate pictures for blackmail, creating a distressing environment for the victim.

Mumbai police have apprehended a 35-year-old man, employed as both a DJ and the manager of a 31-year-old Mexican woman DJ, following her complaint of enduring years of sexual assault and harassment. According to the victim, the accused, whom she met through social media in 2017, sexually assaulted her at his Bandra residence in July 2019, initiating a series of subsequent rapes.

The accused, threatening to impact her professional opportunities, allegedly forced the victim into non-consensual acts, accompanied by the blackmail of intimate pictures. Despite the accused's marriage to another woman in 2020, he persisted in sending inappropriate messages and making sexual demands.

The police have filed charges under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including rape, unnatural sex, assault, and criminal intimidation, as investigations continue.
