Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda has called for action against all individuals involved in the alleged sex scandal concerning his grandson, Prajwal Revanna. Speaking on his 91st birthday, the Janata Dal (Secular) supremo emphasized, “Action needs to be taken against all those who are involved in this case. I will not take their names.”
This marks Deve Gowda's first public reaction to the allegations against Prajwal, who is currently believed to be in Germany. He also affirmed that there will be repercussions for his grandson. “There will be action against Prajwal,” he stated, while also addressing the legal situation of his son, JD(S) legislator HD Revanna. “Regarding Revanna, people have seen what has been done against him. He got bail in the court and one more order is pending.”
Revanna was arrested earlier this month by the Karnataka Police for allegedly kidnapping a woman, who is reportedly one of Prajwal's victims. He has since been granted bail.
Deve Gowda also advocated for financial compensation for the victims, supporting the demand raised by his younger son, former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, who is also Prajwal's uncle.
