Health Minister Sharadwat Mukhopadhyay warns against negligence after surprise visit to RG Kar Medical College

Health Minister Sharadwat Mukhopadhyay conducted a surprise inspection at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on Saturday after visiting Barasat Medical College, expressing strong dissatisfaction over poor sanitation, administrative disarray, and the presence of touts on the hospital premises. During the unannounced visit, the minister reviewed the hospital's functioning and directed officials to address the identified shortcomings. He stated that negligence would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The Health Minister said surprise inspections of government hospitals would continue to ensure better administration and streamline healthcare services. He reiterated that such visits were intended to improve the functioning of government hospitals and monitor compliance with administrative standards.
