No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
A helicopter operated by Air Dynasty, bearing the call sign 9NAFQ, met with an accident in the Khotang district of eastern Nepal on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 12:02 PM in the Baksila area of Kopilasgadhi Rural Municipality while the pilot was attempting to land the aircraft. There were six individuals on board at the time of the crash, including the pilot and five passengers.
According to the District Police Office (DPO) Khotang, the crash resulted in one person sustaining injuries, while the other five individuals miraculously escaped without any physical harm. The injured passenger has been identified as Karji Bahadur Rai. Following the accident, emergency protocols were activated, and Rai was promptly airlifted to Kathmandu for specialized medical treatment. The remaining passengers and crew members are reported to be in stable condition despite the traumatic experience.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Prakash Budhathoki confirmed the details of the incident and stated that the exact cause of the crash remains unknown at this stage. Preliminary reports suggest the accident took place during the final moments of the landing phase, but authorities have yet to determine if technical failure, weather conditions, or human error played a role. A formal investigation by the civil aviation authorities is expected to follow to prevent future occurrences.
