Assam police have seized a consignment of heroin worth approximately Rs 8 crore and arrested two people in Karbi Anglong district.
A joint operation involving the state police and CRPF was conducted in the Lahorijan area of the district following a tip-off. A truck coming from Manipur was intercepted on Saturday and searched, revealing 116 soap boxes containing 1.3 kg of heroin hidden under the tarpaulin covering.
The seized contraband was estimated to be worth nearly Rs 8 crore. Two individuals were taken into custody.
