A 25-year-old homemaker died after being hit by a train on Tuesday morning near Samudragarh Station Colony, triggering strong resentment among local residents over the alleged delay by railway police. The deceased has been identified as Rani Hajra, a resident of the fish market area of the station colony.
Eyewitnesses claimed that after the incident, the woman’s body remained on the railway tracks for a prolonged period. Locals alleged that several trains passed over the spot one after another while no police personnel arrived, intensifying anger and raising serious questions about the responsibility and response of the railway police.
Several hours later, police reached the scene and took the body into custody. Family members and locals believe domestic discord may have played a role behind the incident. The deceased’s mother has made serious allegations against her son-in-law, following which the matter is being looked into.
