Housewife found throat-slit dead in Bengal; Maternal uncle suspected and absconding

On Monday night, the Ecopark police recovered the body of a housewife, Suman Devi, from her home in the Hatiara Naskarpara area. The body was found on her bed with her throat slit and covered in blood. The police seized a sickle from the scene, which is believed to be the weapon used in the crime. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause and time of death.

The deceased lived with her husband, their child, the elderly father-in-law, and her maternal uncle in the same house. Following the discovery, family members filed a complaint accusing the maternal uncle of the murder. Since the incident, the uncle has been absconding and has not been found by the police. The authorities have started questioning all family members as part of the investigation.

The Ecopark police have initiated a formal investigation into the case. They are collecting evidence and statements from those living in the house to understand the circumstances surrounding the death. The police are continuing their search for the suspect and have assured that the inquiry is ongoing.
