Massive fire engulfs chemical factory in Howrah, 15 tenders rushed to spot
Healthcare workers in Howrah blocked the gate of Howrah Municipal Corporation on Tuesday, demanding pending wages, job regularization, and better working conditions. Protesters, including contractual and permanent staff, alleged that repeated appeals were ignored, and previous assurances remained unfulfilled. The blockade disrupted municipal operations, preventing employees from entering. Despite expectations, no government official arrived for discussions.
Workers declared they would not withdraw until demands were met. "We are the backbone of the system, yet our concerns are neglected. We will not back down until our demands are met," said a protester. Demonstrators raised slogans and displayed banners, vowing to continue the agitation and warning of further disruptions if demands remained unaddressed.
