In an incident that occurred this afternoon in the Amta local train en route from Howrah to Amta, a snatcher was caught red-handed by alert passengers.
The accused had snatched a mobile phone and cash from a fellow passenger while the train was in motion. However, his escape was short-lived as vigilant commuters managed to apprehend him and hand him over to the police.
Upon investigation, the police were able to recover two mobile phones and cash from the accused.
