Howrah's Bangeshwar Mahadev Temple: A divine abode with 51 feet high Bholenath and 12 Jyotirlingas

The Bangeshwar Mahadev Temple in Howrah, West Bengal, stands out with its extraordinary features - a towering 51 feet high idol of Lord Bholenath and all twelve Jyotirlingas within the temple premises. As the auspicious month of Shravan continues, devotees flock to the temple to perform Jalabhishek and seek blessings from Lord Shiva.

This temple serves as a convenient destination for devotees who cannot visit all twelve Jyotirlingas individually due to time and financial constraints.

The Bangeshwar Mahadev Temple has been standing for a long time, and in 2015, the then President of the country, Pranab Mukherjee, unveiled the grand 51 feet tall statue in the temple complex. Devotees have been pouring in since the beginning of Shravan, and Mondays witness a significant influx of devotees from far and wide. The devotees perform Jalabhishek with great devotion, seeking blessings from Baba Mahadev.

The unique aspect of this temple is that all twelve Jyotirlingas, which are spread across the country, can be seen together within the premises of Bangeshwar Mahadev Temple. The replicas of Jyotirlingas from Rameswaram, Omkareshwar, Somnath, Mallikarjuna, Mahakaleshwar, Kedarnath, Bhima Shankar, Vishwanath, Trimbakeshwar, Baidyanath Dham, Nageshwar, and Ghushameshwar are all present here.

Besides the Bangeshwar temple, other temples like Tarakeshwar, Bhootnath, Jalpesh, and Ghanteshwar also witness a daily influx of devotees who offer prayers to Lord Shiva with deep devotion.

The Bangeshwar Mahadev Temple in Howrah, West Bengal, continues to captivate devotees with its unique features, providing them with the opportunity to seek blessings from all twelve Jyotirlingas in one place. The fervor of the devotees during the sacred month of Shravan reflects their deep faith and devotion towards Lord Shiva.
