In Sonarpur, Parganas South 24 district of West Bengal, a young man is accused of killing his wife and hiding her in a septic tank for three years. Three years later, during a CID interrogation, he confessed to the murder.

The police had previously arrested him, but when no evidence of murder was found, the young man was granted bail. Now the CID will again seek his remand.

According to police sources, Bhombal Mandal and his wife Tumpa Mandal were residents of Sonarpur. Tumpa has been missing since March 2020. Her father Laxman Haldar filed a missing information complaint at the Sonarpur police station when his daughter was not found.

The husband of the missing woman was also arrested, but Tumpa was nowhere to be found. Recently, the matter reached the Supreme Court. On June 13, on the orders of the court, the CID took over the investigation.

The CID began interrogating Bhombal. On Friday, before the CID's interrogation, Bhombal finally confessed to killing his wife. He said he killed his wife Tumpa three years ago in 2020. He then hid the body in the septic tank of a house in Sonarpur.

Bhombal was released on bail due to lack of evidence. After he confessed to the murder before the CID, an application was made to cancel his bail. Along with this, the sleuths have also sought to add Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code against the accused in the case.

Based on the young man's confession, CID detectives went to his house and got involved in the process of recovering the dead body from the septic tank. A husband was accused of killing his wife and hiding her body in a septic tank. Three years after the murder, during a CID interrogation, the husband confessed to the murder.

The Calcutta High Court recently ordered the CID to start investigating the case. After lengthy interrogation, the accused confessed to killing his wife and throwing her body in a septic tank in 2020 while he was living in a rented house in Milanpally, Sonarpur.

The Tapas Mandal landlord said that during the lockdown, Bhombal Mandal took the house on rent and posed as husband and wife. After waiting for a while they left. After a few days, Bhombal's relative came, paid the rent owed on the house and left with all the belongings.
